Trivia for Cheaters, hosted by Jana Shortal
1601 University Ave W,
On March 22, Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute (MOI), a nonprofit organization that serves under-resourced students in the Twin Cities, will welcome literacy enthusiasts and trivia bums alike to the inaugural Trivia for Cheaters benefit. Hosted by KARE 11’s Jana Shortal, reporter and co-anchor of Breaking the News, the event will take place at the Turf Club at 7 p.m.
Teams of five will compete using their knowledge as well as “cheats” purchased by raising money for MOI. A minimum of $100 raised per teammate is required for a team to enter the competition. Throughout the night, teams can “purchase” cheats from their bank of raised funds to disable other teams. Friends, family, and other spectators are welcome to cheer and heckle for a $5 door charge. All proceeds will support the free creative writing and tutoring programs MOI offers to Twin Cities students.
Mid-Continent Oceanographic Institute (MOI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced students, ages 6 to 18, with their writing skills and homework, emphasizing cross-curricular creativity.
