Our Local Stone Arch Bridge Event
On June 24th at 5pm local Twin Cities dancers, musicians, water organizations, and volunteers will take to the Stone Arch Bridge to celebrate and raise awareness about both global and local water issues. Local choreographers Rae Eden Frank and Lori Mercil are collaborating with local site-specific choreographer and Global Water Dances originator, Marylee Hardenbergh to bring Global Water Dances ~ Stone Arch Bridge to Minneapolis audiences for an interactive and free performance. The event will include an opening section to live percussion, a global section that is being done all around the world to the same piece of music by composer Nicolas Soto Urrea, a water-pouring ceremony, and an audience participation section that includes family fun with the “blue highway” fabric that runs across the bridge representing our beloved Mississippi River, our precious local water resource.
